Local and Domestic Missions
New Town UMC is involved in a variety of ongoing mission projects in our community (and beyond!). Here are some of the ways we're Sharing the Gospel with the World locally and domestically...
From His Hands
Providing meals to the Grove community and the homeless in motels on an ongoing basis.
Periodically throughout the year we offer mission weekends where the whole congregation is invited to do outreaches and serve our community.
Appalachia Service Project
NTUMC sends a team to Appalachia Service Project each year, where members help with home repairs in rural Appalachia.
Tutoring at Berkley Middle School
New Town provides weekly tutoring for students at Berkley Middle School during the school year. Click here for more info!
High School Mission Trips
Our High School students typically do a mission trip each summer to various places around the country. In previous years we've done outreaches in Raleigh, NC, New York City and Boston, MA.
Each December New Town offers an opportunity for over 100 children in need to shop for their families and provides over 50 Christmas meals for each family to take home.
Community of Faith Mission
1-2 weeks a year we partner with other churches in the area to offer an emergency homeless shelter. Find out more at www.cofm.info
Envoy Nursing Home
We send a group to Envoy each month for an ice cream social. A great time is had by all!
We send a team of our middle school youth with the Jeremiah Project each year, where the youth work on teams helping with a variety of home repair service projects in VA and WV.
